BSI Publishes A5 Audit Architecture for AI Compliance under EU AI Act

In brief: The BSI provides a standardized audit architecture with A5 for traceable implementation and control of EU AI Act requirements.

The Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) has published the “AI Audit and Assurance Assessment Architecture” (A5) – a draft for a standardized audit architecture for assessing AI systems in the context of the EU AI Act.

The BSI has presented a draft of the “AI Audit and Assurance Assessment Architecture” (A5). The architecture defines a standardized structure for auditing and assessing AI systems with regard to regulatory requirements.

For CTOs, this means that A5 provides a framework with which the implementation of EU AI Act compliance requirements in AI systems can be documented in a traceable manner and made accessible for external audit. This reduces room for interpretation in the implementation of regulatory standards.

The audit architecture helps organizations to systematically evaluate their AI systems against the requirements of the EU AI Act and to document the results in an audit-ready form. Such a standardized procedure simplifies both internal governance and external conformity assessments.
