Anthropic Economic Index Available as Claude Connector

At a glance: The Anthropic Economic Index is now integrated as a connector in Claude.ai, enabling direct access to AI usage data without installation.

Anthropic provides a Claude connector for its Economic Index, which documents AI usage patterns in the economy. Users can now ask Claude directly in conversations about automation, job changes, and industry trends.

The Anthropic Economic Index measures how AI systems are actually deployed in the economy. The index documents usage patterns across different industries, regions, and task types and is already used by researchers, journalists, and policymakers. With the new connector, this dataset is now integrated directly into Claude conversations.

Users can now ask Claude questions such as “Which professions use AI most frequently?”, “How do people in a specific region use Claude?”, “What tasks do teachers use Claude for?” or “What types of activities are being automated and how has this changed year-over-year?” and receive answers based on index data. The connector can be activated via the menu in claude.ai and works with all Claude models without additional installation.

The index captures patterns in Claude usage and therefore does not represent the entire labor market. Claude alerts users in its answers to the underlying data and its limitations and links to the source. The complete datasets remain freely available on the Anthropic website.
