In short: Claude Voice Mode now supports Opus and Sonnet as well as eleven languages, enables model switching during conversations, and links discussions directly to productivity tools.
Anthropic has expanded Voice Mode for Claude to include the more powerful Opus and Sonnet models and now supports eleven languages. CTOs can thereby work through business problems directly in their native language and implement solutions directly in connected tools such as Google Calendar or Canva.
Voice Mode has so far run exclusively on Claude Haiku. As users increasingly use the feature for longer work sessions on complex business problems – rather than just quick questions – Anthropic is now making Claude Opus and Sonnet available in Voice Mode. Model switching is possible during conversations. Voice Mode uses the fastest version of the selected model to ensure smooth conversations.
The use case for CTOs and executives differs significantly from pure chatbot deployment: Claude asks clarifying questions and develops thoughts further, rather than delivering ready-made answers. The service works in an interactive manner – Claude listens, thinks, and responds. Use cases include preparing for important presentations, evaluating multiple offers, reviewing own processes, or brainstorming product roadmaps. Claude can uncover gaps in argumentation or verify hypotheses with competitive research.
Voice Mode is now available in beta for all chat users on mobile, desktop, and web platforms, but works optimally on smartphones. Users can switch between English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), and two variants of Spanish. The language setting must be explicitly configured in Voice Settings – Claude does not automatically detect the language.
A key advantage is the integration with Connectors: users can instruct Claude to implement insights from the voice discussion directly – such as moving an appointment in Google Calendar, turning a pitch concept into a one-pager in Canva, or drafting email summaries. Claude requests permission before using tools. The connection is configured in Settings under Connectors.
On the free plan, Claude Haiku, one Connector, and all languages are available. Paid plans enable access to all models and Connectors. Voice conversations count towards regular usage limits.
