Infoblox has announced two new capabilities that expand its exposure management portfolio: an EASM system and supply chain intelligence. These are designed to help organizations continuously monitor their internet-reachable systems as well as those of their critical suppliers and prioritize security gaps before attackers can exploit them.
The EASM system differentiates itself from established competitors through its DNS-centric approach. It identifies internet-exposed assets without software agents, credentials, or active scans. The key distinction: the system identifies DNS-specific issues that conventional EASM platforms miss. A concrete example is orphaned CNAME records (dangling CNAMEs) – DNS entries that no longer reference a valid target host and that attackers can take over to host phishing pages, steal credentials, or impersonate legitimate corporate domains. An early access study involving approximately 40 organizations found that 31 of these companies (77 percent) had such entries; in about one-third of these cases, the entries were easily takeable.
The supply chain intelligence continuously monitors internet-exposed assets of critical suppliers. It captures security vulnerabilities, leaked credentials, dark web activities, and ongoing threat campaigns that could introduce risks through third-party connections. This module is positioned as an extension of Infoblox’ existing exposure management strategy.
The new capabilities address a central trend in cybersecurity: AI-based attacker reconnaissance has been compressed from weeks to hours. CISOs must therefore ensure continuous visibility of their external attack surface to proactively reduce exposures before attackers systematically explore and exploit them.
