Anthropic Automates Marketing Reporting with Claude Cowork

The bottom line: Through Claude workflows, Anthropic employees reduce repetitive marketing operations from multiple days to a few hours per week while improving data quality.

Anthropic’s marketing operations team uses Claude Cowork to automate weekly reporting and campaign setups. This saves employees multiple days of manual system integration per week.

Anthropic’s marketing operations team has dramatically accelerated two core tasks: weekly metrics reporting and setting up new campaigns. Ian Chan, who oversees the weekly metrics overview, previously spent one to two days per week pulling data from multiple systems. Annabel Custer needed similar time to configure new events sequentially across Salesforce, HubSpot, Swoogo, and email tools. With Claude Cowork, they now compress this work into a few hours.

Chan’s workflow runs automatically on Sundays: Claude Cowork reads the previous week’s overview, checks Slack messages from the sales team, queries the data warehouse, and prepares metrics tables with suggested focus areas. Monday morning, Ian validates the numbers and asks Claude to expand them with details and examples—based on current priorities or product launches. The finished leadership slide is generated from the same data. If a report contains mismatched numbers, Claude flags them rather than guessing: this happened after a sales reorganization where marketing’s structure no longer aligned with sales.

For this, Ian has built three skills: one for report summarization with headlines and details, one for numerical accuracy through comparison with verified sources, and one for converting follow-up items into Asana tasks. After each session, Ian documents lessons learned and adjustments that Claude incorporates into the skills—new organizational structures, corrections, or alternative headline framing. The entire process, which previously took up to two days, now costs a maximum of two hours. This shifts work from system clicking to validation, enablement, and strategic data work.
